Mr. Don Congdon
Mr. Congdon began teaching at St. Luke in August of 2014. He graduated from Elmhurst College (undergraduate) and from National Louis University (graduate). He played baseball for four years in college and was the ace pitcher of his staff for two of those years. After college, he started a t-ball league in Northbrook for both boys and girls (ages 5-9) and ran the league for 24 years. He began his teaching career at St. Norbert School in Northbrook and taught Physcal Education for 20 years. It wasn't until 2006 when a 4th grade teacher asked him to help her teach a fourth grade gifted math class, that he became interested in teaching math. He then attended Northeastern Illinois University and became certified to teach math to grades 6-9. Mr. Congdon enjoys encouraging his math students to perform at a higher level and helping them gain self-confidence in their individual math abilities. Mr. Congdon also enjoys inspiring children toward living out Catholic values. He is an avid golfer who enjoys the game and the camaraderie with friends. He also enjoys attending Mass regularly, helping out at Church functions, watching good movies, and listening to rock & roll.
