St. Luke Parish School offers need-based tuition assistance to those families who value a Catholic education and need financial assistance to fulfill their tuition commitment. SmartAid provides an online application for financial assistance that must be fully completed. Every attempt will be made to secure aid so that no student is unable to attend St. Luke due to a genuine financial hardship. In order for a family to be considered for any tuition assistance, the tuition assistance application and requested forms must be filled out completely and submitted by April 30 for assistance consideration for the next school year.
The actual tuition assistance amount awarded to a family is based upon a number of factors, primarily the information provided on the assistance application, but also the amount of tuition assistance available in the school budget. The amount of assistance awarded is unique to each family. Financial awards are effective for one school year and must be resubmitted on an annual basis. All existing financial commitments must be met in order to qualify for assistance for the following school year.
Illinois Tax Credit ScholarshipsThe State of Illinois has created a new way to fund scholarships for children who choose to attend private schools through the "Invest in Kids Act." St. Luke has been following this issue alongside the Archdiocese of Chicago for its potential effects upon our families and our benefactors. There are still many unanswered questions and it is too early for families or benefactors to take any immediate action, but we wanted to provide the most up to date information from the Archdiocese of Chicago about this program. More information about tax credit scholarships is available on the Archdiocese's website, www.archchicago.org/tcs, including a "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) document and the latest information about the application process.
