    Matching Gift
If you or your spouse's employer matches gifts to education institutions, your gift could be doubled or even tripled. Contact your company's Human Resources department for its policy on matching gifts.

A bequest is property given by will. Historically, the term bequest was used for personal property given by will and deviser for real property. Today, the two words are used interchangeably. Creating a will or updating an existing one — is not hard. However, we recommend that you consult with an attorney about the proper wording to make sure it follows all legal requirements.

If you do name our school as a beneficiary, you can share the following language with your attorney:

I give (list a dollar amount/percentage of your estate/specific asset or item) to The Catholic Bishop of Chicago, Tax ID #36-2170826, located in Chicago, Illinois for the use and benefit of St. Luke School located in River Forest, Illinois or to its successor.

Email Sheila Price if you have any questions.

If securities are held by a broker or banker, you can have them transferred directly to St. Luke's account from any local brokerage house. Email the Development Office or call 708-435-8927 to alert St. Luke that a gift of stock is being made. Donors of securities are eligible for special tax advantages.

There are a number of other ways to support St. Luke School: gifts of real estate, charitable trusts, annuities, and more. Contact Sheila Price to schedule a time to explore your options.
