Week of February 24th, 2020
Here is what's happening in room 201!
I will be posting information, every Monday, about what we will be covering during the week. Please be sure to check Mrs. LeBeau's website as well for science and math information. Please be aware that test dates are subject to change.
Religion- Students will be focusing on the beginning of the season of Lent. Students will attend a prayer service for the burning of the palm branches today. We will begin to prepare for the Lent by creating LENT graphic organizers - What is Lent? , How is Lent Different?, Important Days in Lent, Scriptures About Lent. We will also create hand prints. The students will place a small heart in their hand print with a word of focus for this season. ( Love, Patience, Alms Giving, Prayer)
Please join us for our Ash Wednesday service on February 26th at 8:30 A.M.
Reading- Students will be back in the Journeys book this week. The story for the week will be "Riding Freedom." Skills will be: vocabulary, fluency, compare and contrast, and figurative language. Their will be a test on this story this Friday.
FEBRUARY READING LOGS WILL BE DUE ON FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK. STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE THEIR MARCH READING LOG THIS FRIDAY.
Students will be given the information they need to go online to access our reading series. The website it www-k6thinkcentral.com. Your child was given their user name and password in class.
Language Arts/ Spelling- We are back in the reading books, so the students will be taking the Lesson 16 spelling test this Thursday. The skills wil be using context clues, spelling patterns, and editing. The spelling test will be this week Thursday.
English - Students will be working on adjective this week. (how many, which one, predicate adjectives)
Social Studies- The students will receive a study guide to review over the branches of government. Because I was gone last week, the students will be budied up with a partner. They will be able to use their books to complete the assessment. This will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. This Friday the students will be picking their state for the State Fair. They will receive their information packet as well.
All research and work on the state fair poster will be done in class.
Math- Ms. Mazur's Math Class - This week we will review over the skills that were covered while I was gone last week. We will continue to work on solving equations that contain more that one operation.
WORK ON ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION, AND DIVISION FACTS AT HOME.
