Degrees and Certifications:
Sra. Vera graduated from Montclair State University in New Jersey where she majored in Business Administration with a concentration in education. She is currently working towards her Masters degree in social work with an emphasis on child development. She has worked with children her whole life and their development is something she is truly passionate about. As a native Spanish speaker, she has used her bilingual experience to help communicate and enhance the relationship between parent, teacher, and student.
She is proud to be the Spanish teacher at St. Luke School. Sra. Vera is very excited to be given the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of students. She is looking forward to getting to know each student in her clasess and to really help them develop a relationship with the Spanish language.
Learning another language can be challenging, but Sra. Velt strives to make her lessons more interesting as well as easier to understand, so that each child associates learning a new language with an enjoyable experience. She strives to go beyond academics and plan activities to develop the creative skills and interests of students. She aims to make her class an educational, as well as a fun-filled experience for the students.
Sra. Vera aims to complete most, if not every assignment in class, as she believes that class participation is the most important aspect of learning any language. She will help the students with their note-taking skills in order to ensure success in preparation for any quiz or test
